LADY BLACKBIRD – AT LE REFLEKTOR AS PART OF THE “UHODA JAZZ À LIÈGE” FESTIVAL
Lady Blackbird’s music bears the unmistakable mark of freedom. Since her acclaimed debut album Black Acid Soul (2021), she has crafted a voice that is both powerful and intimate, blending jazz, soul, gospel, psychedelic rock and pop.
Her new album Slang Spirituals is her most personal project yet: a journey toward self-acceptance, moving from the weight of religious dogma to the joy of liberation. Across 11 tracks — between orchestral flights and psychedelic grooves — she once again teams up with producer Chris Seefried to deliver raw, vulnerable songs that speak of both struggle and triumph.
Raised in a strict Christian household in New Mexico, she spent years feeling judged and silenced. After working as a backing vocalist and collaborating with artists like Anastacia, Moby and Gregory Porter, she found her true voice with Black Acid Soul, praised by critics and taken on tour across Europe.
With Slang Spirituals, Lady Blackbird marks her rebirth:
“It’s me, full of freedom and acceptance. The soundtrack of becoming.”
An audacious mix of neo-gospel, avant-soul and acid rock that she will bring to stages around the world in 2025.
