KIDS RETURN

Born in 1997, Adrien and Clément both grew up at the dawn of the new millennium, with its fantasies and disillusions. The year of their birth is also marked by a musical effervescence – the French Touch and the rise of Britpop: two major movements that would infuse their first recordings two decades later.

In 2022, Kids Return released its first album ‘Forever Melodies’ which marked the beginning of the adventure. In just a few months, the duet transitions from a filmed live session at the legendary Motorbass studio to shows at prestigious Paris venues like La Maroquinerie and La Cigale sold-out. Rapidly, the band flies away to tour across North America, from Los Angeles to Montreal, including a very special night playing at the iconic Red Rocks natural amphitheater at the heart of Colorado. Kids Return’s revelation in France takes the two friends all the way to Tokyo to perform on the Summer Sonic stage in 2023, Japan’s most important festival. Several awards and events embellish the rise including: representing France at Eurosonic where the band received an MME Award, two invitations at the famous French TV program Quotidien (awarded as the Best New Music Act of 2023), and multiple collaborations with Saint Laurent.

The Feather

2024 marks the grand return of The Feather, the solo project of Thomas Medard, the iconic voice of Belgian band Dan San. In June, he revealed a captivating cover of Everything But The Girl’s “Missing,” offering a light, summer-tinged preview. Now, he returns with brand-new material: two singles, “See You Again” and “Always You.” Both tracks were produced, recorded, and mixed by Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear bassist and collaborator of Twin Shadow, Dirty Projectors, Moses Sumney, Solange, Aaron Parks…). Taylor also lends his vocals to the chorus of “See You Again.”

After multiple back-and-forth trips between Belgium and Spain—where Taylor now resides—the finishing touches were added in Sweden and Los Angeles. The powerful, soaring drums of Thomas Hedlund (Phoenix, Cult of Luna) enrich “See You Again,” while the jazzy, organic rhythms of Kyle Crane (M. Ward, Feist, Peter Bjorn and John…) elevate “Always You.” Both tracks were mastered by Grammy Award-winner Joe LaPorta, known for his work with David Bowie, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, and Beach House.

Following a debut album, Invisible (2013), which brought him to major international stages (Ancienne Belgique, La Maroquinerie, FME and FEQ festivals in Canada), and ROOM (2020), a home-crafted album praised by critics (Focus Vif 8/10, Le Soir, Moustique), Thomas Medard enters a new phase. Opening up to prestigious collaborations, he shapes an ever more refined and ambitious indie pop sound.

This comeback also marks a new chapter for The Feather: his signing with Dutch label PolyMoon, joining a roster that includes Noa Lee and Rosa Butsi.
