HOOVERPHONIC

Formed in 1995, Hooverphonic quickly gained international attention when their track 2Wicky was featured in Bernardo Bertolucci’s Stealing Beauty. Their debut album A New Stereophonic Sound Spectacular (1996) opened doors worldwide. After some lineup changes, the arrival of Geike Arnaert marked the beginning of their most iconic era.

Blending lush orchestration with electronic pop, albums like Blue Wonder Power Milk, The Magnificent Tree (featuring Mad About You), and Jackie Cane solidified their signature sound. They evolved constantly, from live acoustic recordings (Sit Down and Listen) to conceptual projects (No More Sweet Music, LSD Golf Club), never fearing reinvention.

After Geike’s departure, they continued exploring with new voices — Noémie Wolfs (The Night Before, Reflection), then Luka Cruysberghs (Looking For Stars). In 2020, Geike returned, and the band released Hidden Stories and represented Belgium at Eurovision with The Wrong Place.

Their 2024 album Fake Is The New Dope returned to their electronic roots. In 2025, Hooverphonic celebrates its 30th anniversary with a global tour, a photo book, and a special edition of The Magnificent Tree. With timeless songs and unwavering creativity, they remain a beloved and enduring force in music.
