With their enchanting blend of electronica, art pop, saudade and alternative Latin, Ão has become one of the most exciting acts in the Belgian music scene. The quartet has evolved into a boundary-defying, singular voice that resists all genre labels, much like Stromae, Rosalía or C. Tangana before them.

Brenda Corijn, drawing from her Mozambican-Portuguese roots, sings in Portuguese and English. Her warm, magnetic voice intertwines with Siebe Chau’s sun-drenched guitar lines, Jolan Decaestecker’s layered electronics and Bert Peyffers’ eclectic percussion.

On stage, Ão delivers a captivating live experience that has been mesmerizing audiences across Europe. Their dynamic sound—shifting from fragile melodies to dance-driven beats—immerses listeners in a spellbinding world where you never quite know what comes from where.

On February 13, 2026, Ão will release their new album Malandra. A malandra is a woman who moves through life with wit, playfulness and cunning—not always fair, but always true to herself. With Malandra, Ão offers an ode to complexity, multiplicity and the beauty of ‘searching’ in all its forms.

The album sounds deeper, more rhythmic, playful, tender and harder than their debut Ao Mar, and will be presented live during a 2026 European tour, with the Belgian release show at Ancienne Belgique.
