and are not afraid to experiment. With the prospect of broadening their musical territory for the follow-up album to 2022\u2019s \u2018Sweet Boy\u2019 the band contacted Dave McCracken. Known for shaping the sexy groove of dEUS\u2019 classic \u2018The Architect\u2019, the British producer has an impressive resume having worked with Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown, Kanye West, Beyonc\u00e9 and Depeche Mode amongst others. McCracken loved the band\u2019s new demos and, after making several trips to the band\u2019s hometown of Melsele (a small town near Antwerp known for its annual Miss Strawberry competition) to help whip the songs into shape, he invited the band to record in London.\r\n\r\nSONS greedily feasted on his skills and knowledge. \u201cHe took us completely out of our comfort zone,\u201d says singer\/guitarist Robin Borghgraef. \u2018Do My Thing\u2019, the first single taken from their third album \u2013 scheduled for release after the summer \u2013 was inspired by an unforgettable night out with McCracken and the fastest-written song on the new record. \u201cIt\u2019s about enjoying the moment and just doing your own thing. Sometimes our songs are self-explanatory\u201d, laughs Robin.\r\n\r\nSONS made a name for themselves in Benelux with their debut album \u2018Family\u2019 Dinner\u2019 (2019) and expanded their reach to Germany, France, Switzerland and Greece with the follow-up \u2018Sweet Boy\u2019 (2022).\r\n\r\nBoth albums excelled in full-on rock &amp; roll power packed with big hooks, riffs and sing-along choruses. The band has played Rock Werchter, Pukkelpop, Pinkpop, Down The Rabbit Hole, Into the Great Wide Open, Reeperbahn, Trans Musicales and Iceland Airwaves (where they recorded\u00a0a live session for KEXP).
